Play - the Truth about Fetch and Tug (postponed)
Time & Location
About the Event
Most of us think playing ball and other high physical games with our dogs are fun. But few dog owners realise how these high impact activities put our dogs' musculo-skeletal system at high risk, leaving them with injury or long-term degeneration of bones, nerves, muscles and other soft tissues.
"But they're having so much fun and it tires them out!" is what you may think. In this workshop we will decode the happy look and wagging tail and explain why dogs don't stop playing.
We will also talk about the ball (play) addiction and show you dog appropriate fun games that are much more beneficial to your dog's health, emotions, hormonal balance and keep them happy long-term. This can be the secret to a calm dog and less behavioural issues.
This workshop will have a practical component so you can practise first hand how to play games with your dog appropriately.
Please register early if you would like to be one of the four participants that can bring their dog for the practical part of this session.
Our workshops are designed for dog owners, volunteers in animal rescue groups and dog lovers in general. We aim to provide interesting, thought provoking, interactive and mostly fun sessions in a relaxed, friendly and casual atmosphere. We keep the number of participants low to ensure time for questions and discussions.
If you love your dog then this is for you!
Please don't bring your dog to this workshop unless you have registered (only four spaces for dogs) with us and have received confirmation from us in regards to bringing your dog.
Limited spaces available, please purchase your ticket to secure your seat.
$15 per person; loyalty program applies: you can attend workshops individually and pick which ever you want to participate in throughout 2020. Pick four sessions, get one free or pay for eight and get two free.
